Radical Teens
Radical Teens was set up to help meet the needs of the youth at Kings in years 8-11 during the main Sunday meetings.
At Kings we feel that it is important for the older youth to be a part of the main meeting and teaching, however, we also appreciate that the main meeting can be a lot to take in! We therefore encourage our 12-16 years olds to be an active part of Radical Teens.
Currently Radical Teens meets 2 consecutive Sundays in every 4 weeks. The teaching runs parallel to the main meeting, however it is set at a level appropriate to this aged youth.
As with all areas of youth and children’s work at Kings, we are keen to see our youth develop and grow not only in their relationship with God but also in their skills and service. Many of the older Radical Teens are beginning to assist with the younger children’s work on one of their ‘free’ Sundays. Also some of the older teens who have outgrown the group are coming back to help lead the group, alongside Rachel Bent and Kerrie Sweeby the main leaders.
Each week the Radical Teens notes will be accessible from the youth and children’s homepage. We hope this can provide the youth with a summary of the teaching and that it also enables parents and guardians to be aware of what’s being taught and then give opportunity for it to be reinforced through the week.
