| Kings Church |
Kings KidsWe are totally committed as a church to developing our children to love Jesus with all their heart. We have recognised through past activities that children respond well when they have older young people that they can relate to and learn from. We therefore look to develop our activities in such a way that the children not only do fun things together but they also connect with older young people who will encourage them. We also develop relationships with adults who can bring wisdom, life experience and the flavour of intergenerational family life. Our support and discipling is based upon Christian values and truths.
FUNJesus is no kill joy. He wants us to have fun as we learn more about Him. This happens throughout our activities, whether it be worship or just being together for discussion. Our kids worship times can be loud and very warm!
Our culture is driven by the views of the media and these views often stand in defiance of who God has made us to be. We look to bring correction to this by revealing to the children and young people their true identity in Christ. An identity that incudes knowing Him personally and understanding that He gives the only true meaning to our lives. We make opportunities for serving and growth at an early age. We believe in developing young leadership.
We have children serving in some key roles e.g. within our Sunday morning Tech Team we have a 10 year old girl taking responsibility for song words. Just imagine, before the foundation of the earth, before her birth, Jesus had planned for her to do this as part of her worship to Him! Amazing stuff!
Ephesians 2:10 says, 'For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do'
Of course there is always a cost to growing children and that cost is shared across the various family members at Kings.
We operate a child protection policy and all children’s workers have to be police checked before serving.
We are working at breaking young peoples mindsets that say ‘church is for older people’ by engaging young people to be active in their faith through ministry and service. The church is them, without them we are missing an important part.
Parents are key to bringing up children in the faith
We understand the pressures on families today especially on their quality time together and the exhaustion caused by general living in these times. However, we also see the need and priority for parental involvement to grow children in their walk with Jesus. We will therefore do all that we can to give support to parents. We look to resource and equip them for the challenges of parenting.
